A street at Persimmon Homes West Midlands' Cromwell Wharf development in Lichfield has been unveiled in honour of George William Asbridge, who served in World War Two.
Mrs Louisa Ann Jones, Mr Asbridge's daughter, travelled from North Wales to attend the unveiling of Asbridge Way, accompanied by her eldest son. Ms Jones grew up in Lichfield and returned to the city for the ceremony.
Speaking about the honour, Louisa Ann Jones said: "On behalf of our family, I would like to express our sincere thanks to Persimmon Homes for this wonderful honour. To return to Lichfield, where I grew up, and see a street named after my father in recognition of his service is incredibly meaningful to us. It is a very special feeling to know that his name will now form part of the local community and be remembered for generations to come. I know my mum would have been incredibly proud. We miss my dad every day, but he is always thought of, loved and remembered."
