Families are invited to Beacon Park Fun Day on Wednesday 5 August, running from 11am to 3.30pm. Entry is free and there is no need to book in advance.
The event brings together family entertainment, activities, local organisations and businesses for a day in the park. Both free and paid-for activities will be available.
What's on
The Teddy Bear Games will return, featuring races for children and adults throughout the day. Visitors are encouraged to bring their favourite teddy to take part, though bears will also be available to borrow.
Other attractions include the Barefoot Walk, a sensory trail through the park with natural textures, as well as face painting, crafts, inflatables, toys, sweet treats and food.
Community and local involvement
A range of community organisations and emergency services will attend, including Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, the RNLI, Midlands Air Ambulance, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Citizens Advice, St Giles Hospice, Everyone Health, Active Communities, the Lichfield District Community Safety Partnership and the Joint Waste Service.
Local businesses and attractions will also provide entertainment and activities, including Charles Harris FunFair UK, Cannock Dairies, Matt Fiddes Martial Arts, Fusion Dance School, Liberty Jamboree, Andrew Pryce Toys Galore, Hazel Cakes, Anca's Sweet Bakery, ASB Harmony and Aloha.
Councillor Phil Whitehouse, Cabinet Member for Operational Services, Parks and Waste, said: "Beacon Park Fun Day has become one of the highlights of our summer events programme, bringing together families, local businesses, charities and community organisations for a fantastic experience."
