Lichfield Community Games is returning to Beacon Park this Saturday with dozens of sports and activities for families to try. The event runs from noon to 4pm and features everything from cycling and football to martial arts, yoga and soft axe throwing. Entry costs just £5 per child when booked online or £5 cash on the day, with free admission for babies under two.

Now in its eighth year, the Lichfield Community Games brings together local clubs and organisations to help families discover new hobbies. Participants can explore options ranging from Lichfield Running Club to women's cricket groups, dance classes, massage therapists and much more. The event is designed as a chance to try something new without pressure or commitment.

Children can attempt BMX ramps, tug of war, mini rugby and Morris dancing throughout the afternoon. Adults can join fitness activities or tai chi sessions. Councillor Andy Smith said the event is "all about helping people find enjoyable ways to move more and connect with others."

Hundreds of families are expected at Beacon Park on Saturday. The Lichfield Community Games offers genuine variety for all ages and fitness levels, with local organisations on hand to help people get started with activities they might want to pursue long-term.
