Lichfield Bin Collection Calendar 2026
Check your next bin collection
Enter your postcode and select your address to see your next black-bin, recycling, food-waste and subscribed garden-waste dates.
- Enter your postcode on the council page and choose Submit postcode, then select your address.
- Match each date to its collection type. Use your own property's result; an old PDF or a neighbouring street may have different dates.
Food-waste caddies are collected every week on your normal collection day.
Bin and recycling collections in Lichfield are run by Lichfield District Council. Collection days vary by address, so use the council's postcode checker rather than relying on a general area timetable.

- Blue bin and blue bag
- Collected every two weeks, alternating with the black bin.

Which Lichfield bin should I use?
- Blue bin: clean glass bottles and jars, cans, foil, aerosols and accepted plastic containers.
- Blue bag: clean paper and cardboard. Some rural properties use a purple bin instead.
- Black bin: household rubbish that cannot be recycled. Food waste now goes in the separate caddy.
- Brown bin: subscribed garden waste only; food waste must not go in it.
Fold extra cardboard into blue-bag-sized bundles and secure it beside the bag, without plastic bags. In wet weather, leave the extra card out on collection morning. Put your food caddy beside your normal bin, where crews can see it.

Missed bin?
Wait until 5.30pm on collection day because crews may still return later in the round. Then check the council's current missed-streets list. If your street is listed, leave the bin at the kerbside: the council aims to return the next working day, although it can take up to three working days.
If the street is not listed and the bin was out by 6am, was not too heavy and had no contamination tag, report it after 5.30pm using the live form. The live form specifies the next working day, while the missed-streets page says the following day. Report promptly and follow the form's current deadline; assisted collections have separate arrangements.
