Three new padel courts have opened in Beacon Park, Lichfield. Lichfield District Council and Active Lichfield District unveiled the outdoor, floodlit facility on 30 July 2026 at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by councillors, staff, and padel enthusiasts.
Padel is a sport that blends tennis and squash, played mainly as doubles on an enclosed court. It is easy to learn and suitable for all ages and abilities.
How to Book and Pricing
The courts are open seven days a week on a pay-as-you-go basis with no membership required. Players can book 60-minute sessions up to 14 days in advance through the Playtomic app.
Off-peak sessions cost £16 per hour, while peak-period sessions are £20 per hour. Floodlit evening play is available. Access is managed through a secure digital entry code provided via the Playtomic app.

Councillor Andy Smith, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Major Projects, said: "We are delighted to open these fantastic new courts in Beacon Park. Padel is a great sport which has boomed in popularity in recent years and we have already had a great deal of interest from local people. The Padel courts are Lichfield District Council's latest investment in Beacon Park creating another opportunity for people of all ages to get active."
