Sixteen young professionals working in Lichfield District are receiving funded memberships of the Future Faces business network.
Lichfield District Council is funding ten 12-month memberships for people employed by local businesses and a further six for its own staff.
The successful external applicants work for businesses including Magnaflux, The Boss Partnership, Ansons Law, Fruition Accountancy and Premium Sales Consultancy.
Networking and mentoring
Future Faces, part of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, supports professionals aged 18 to 35 through networking events, mentoring and professional development.
Councillor Richard Holland, cabinet member for high street and economic development, said the scheme gave young professionals an opportunity to develop skills, confidence and connections.
He said: “We have some incredibly talented people starting and building their careers here in Lichfield District, and we want to encourage them to develop those careers here too.”
Sophie Poduval-Morrell, Future Faces divisional manager, said the support would open membership to more emerging professionals and help them build their local networks.
Martin de Ridder, managing director of Ansons Law, said the programme offered young professionals “a supportive network of people at the same stage of their careers”.
