A new Starbucks drive-thru and South Staffordshire's largest electric vehicle charging hub have opened on the same day at Wall Island in Lichfield South Business Park, near Junction T5 of the M6 Toll.
The Instavolt EV charging hub features 14 ultra-rapid 160kW charging points, making it the largest of its kind in South Staffordshire. The facilities opened on 28 September 2026, operated by EG on the Move.
The openings mark the final development phase at Lichfield South, coinciding with 28 years of site ownership by Lingfield Assets LLP. David Smith, former Leader of Lichfield District Council and former Member of Staffordshire County Council, played a pivotal role in supporting the regeneration of the brownfield site.
The timing aligns with the phased completion of Axis 5 at Lichfield South, an industrial and logistics scheme by Tungsten Properties that has recently signed its first two occupiers.
