The Wych Elm in Burntwood has reopened following a refurbishment which Marston’s says involved an investment of £270,000.

The pub reopened on Wednesday 4 November 2026 under the company’s Grandstand sports-pub format.

Work included new screens and sound equipment, flexible tiered seating and changes to the beer garden, where television screens have also been added.

The venue has been decorated with local sports memorabilia. It is seeking photographs and items connected with local sports stars and teams, both past and present, to add to the display.

Dan and the Inflatables were invited to pull the first pint and mark the reopening. The group of friends takes part in a Christmas-themed 10km inflatable run around Burntwood each year to raise money for local charities and organisations.

The reopening follows the pub’s previously announced temporary closure for the refurbishment. Details of the completed work were supplied on behalf of Marston’s on 6 November.
