Lichfield District Council has launched a £1.17 million investment in the voluntary and community sector, with funding available over the next three years to support organisations across the district.
The council is inviting applications for its new Community and Voluntary Sector Funding Programme. The application window remains open for six weeks, closing on 3 September 2026.
Previous funding success
The programme builds on earlier council investment of £787,288, which supported 14 local organisations. Over two years, those organisations recruited more than 200 new volunteers, provided support or guidance in more than 3,000 cases, helped improve the mental health and wellbeing of more than 3,300 young people, and supported more than 300 adults to improve their wellbeing.
What the funding supports
Funding is available for projects that support one or more of the four priorities within the Lichfield District 2050 Strategy: creating confident, prosperous, active and green communities.
For the first time, the programme includes a dedicated Community Transport Fund to help improve access to employment, healthcare, education and community services for residents across the district.

Councillor Richard Cox, Cabinet Member for Community and Public Protection, said: "Our voluntary and community organisations are one of Lichfield District's greatest strengths. Every day they provide support, create opportunities and make a real difference to people's lives, often reaching those who need help the most."
He added: "If your organisation has a project or idea that could make a positive difference in our communities, I'd encourage you to take a look at the funding available and submit an application."
