Kerry Dove has been appointed interim chief executive and head of paid service at Lichfield District Council.
The appointment was approved at Full Council on Wednesday 4 November. Kerry, currently the council’s chief operating officer, will take up the position following the departure of Simon Fletcher.
Council leader Councillor Doug Pullen welcomed the appointment in a statement issued after the meeting.
He said: “Kerry knows this organisation exceptionally well, and brings the experience, judgement and determination needed to lead it with confidence.”
“She has my full support, and I know she will provide the clear direction and strong leadership we need over the coming months,” he added.
Councillor Pullen said the council’s focus would remain on maintaining services, progressing its work in local communities and delivering for residents across the district.
The council’s statement did not specify an end date for the interim appointment.
