Thousands of Lichfield residents are benefiting from a complete overhaul of Burntwood Leisure Centre's changing village. The project, which began in March, has delivered new cubicles, lockers, doors and fresh paint throughout the facilities. Crucially, the swimming pool remained open during the entire refurbishment, allowing lessons and public swims to continue without interruption.
Rosalind Hallifax, a longstanding user of Burntwood Leisure Centre, praised the quality of the work. "The refurbished changing village is very welcome – I've been very impressed by the way it has been done with minimum disruption and the end result is very impressive," she said. "It will help me to enjoy the pool even more than before."
Councillor Andy Smith highlighted the significance of the investment for the Lichfield community. "For many local people, Burntwood Leisure Centre is where they learned to swim, joined a club, got active or spent time with family and friends," he said. "That's why continuing to invest in facilities like these is so important."
The opening of the refurbished changing village follows recent upgrades to the leisure centre's gym and the launch of the new Lichfield Leisure Centre.
