Lichfield businesses and community figures have until Friday 16 October to enter this year’s Beacon Awards, as the district council announces the people who will judge the nominations.

The five external judges are Rob Gittins of Palletways, Matt Clay of Lichfield Garrick, Terri-Anne Cooper of Roxane UK, Liberty Jamboree founder Maggi Huckfield and Lichfield Cathedral chief operating officer Simon Warburton.

Councillor Richard Holland, the council’s Cabinet Member for High Street and Economic Development, will join them on the panel.

The awards recognise achievement across ten categories, including business success, young professionals and community contribution. Huckfield was named Community Hero at the 2025 awards.

Holland encouraged independent businesses, established employers and people making a difference in their community to put themselves forward before the deadline.

Judging will take place before the finalists are announced. Winners are due to be celebrated at a ceremony on Thursday 3 December.

Categories and nomination details are available on the Beacon Awards website. The accompanying photographs are from the 2025 awards, not this year’s judging.
