Lichfield’s Christmas charity tractor run will return on Sunday 20 December, with a convoy of decorated tractors raising money for three causes.

The parade is due to leave Rymans Christmas Trees at 5pm and travel a 15-mile route around Lichfield before returning to its starting point. Organisers say the route will pass the Bowling Green roundabout and Lichfield City railway station.

Proceeds this year will be shared between Midlands Air Ambulance, Pathway Project and Lichfield Young Farmers.

South Staffs Water is returning as a sponsor and joint organiser, alongside Rymans Christmas Trees and Lichfield Young Farmers Club.

According to the organisers, last year’s run raised more than £15,000 for St Giles Hospice, Kids Village and Lichfield Young Farmers.

Nina Yiannoukos-Benton, catchment projects manager at South Staffs Water, said: “It’s wonderful to be part of something that brings so many people together and adds a touch of seasonal magic to the city, all while supporting an incredible cause.”

Stuart and Helen Ryman said they were looking forward to hosting an event that brought the agricultural community and wider public together.

Liv Thomas, chairlady of Lichfield Young Farmers, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing the streets of Lichfield light up once again as the Christmas Tractor Run returns.”

Tractor registrations are open and must be completed online. Participation costs £25, or £30 with a passenger, according to the supplied release.
