Environmental Protection Officers from Lichfield District Council are appealing for information to identify a man caught on camera fly-tipping in Alrewas last month.
Surveillance footage captured green waste and an old tarpaulin being dumped on Burton Road on Thursday 23 July. Officers are now asking the public to help identify the individual shown in the footage.
Second incident under investigation
The council is also investigating a separate fly-tipping incident at the same location earlier in July, which involved slabs and building waste.
A white Fiat Doblo Cargo van is suspected of being used in connection with both incidents. Checks carried out so far have been unsuccessful. Officers currently believe the vehicle may be incorrectly registered and has no valid tax or MOT.
Police involvement
Staffordshire Police have been informed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Councillor Richard Cox, Cabinet Member for Community and Public Protection, said: "Fly-tipping has a real impact on our communities and we are determined to identify and take action against those responsible. Our officers investigate incidents, gather evidence and use tools including surveillance cameras to help identify offenders."
Councillor Cox urged anyone who recognises the man or the vehicle to come forward. "Even a small piece of information could help," he said. "Information can be provided anonymously – our priority is identifying the person and vehicle involved."
